Simple. No new hydraulic requirements. No new software. No new manifolding. No new gate valves. No external controls or support equipment.
Retrofittable. Most makes of machines can accommodate the Twinshot modifications with minor alterations.
Affordable. Standard co-injection molding machines can take 5 to 7 years to pay back. Twinshot is profitable in the first year. See for yourself…
How it works
Twinshot single-barrel coinjection is now available in two versions. Our newest technology, Twinshot Version II, uses a single screw as well as a single barrel. The ratio of materials is controlled by an external pellet feeder mounted to one of the feed hoppers. Since this design requires no changes to the screw drive mechanism, retrofit to any model of existing press is as simple as a routine barrel change. Further advantages of this version include:
- Faster recovery, since both materials plasticize simultaneously
- A broader range of screw sizes, particularly in smaller diameters.
- Lower cost, since there is only one screw rather than two.
- A wider range of material combinations, using independent temperature control on the two materials.
Benefits:
Cost Savings
Twinshot can cut up to 30% of your biggest expense item, material cost.
Foam-core Moldings
Improve cosmetics and reduce molded-in stress while maintaining a Class-A surface.
Property Enhancements
Combine the properties of multiple materials in a single molding operation. You can reduce assembly labor, fasteners, and adhesives by producing parts with unique property combinations.
Twinshot Advantages
Get all the above in a technology so simple that it can be retrofitted to your existing machines, and so cost-effective that you will see net savings within the first year.
